Walk In The Light

Father, in the quiet of the morning, I wake up in Your presence. I begin the day with Your Word in my heart. I walk in the light of Your love. Your fortress around me gives me peace. And once again, I know that Your hand is upon me, that my days are in Your book, that my life is in your plans. All the trials and troubles come and go, but Your strength is always there. You are and have always been my refuge and sanctuary and resting place and hiding place. The mountains of Your mercy have been my rescue and my residence. You have guarded and guided and girded me all along the way, from dawn to dusk and back again, from ignorance to understanding, from confusion to wisdom, from childhood to geezerhood, from defiance to obedience, from panic to perseverance. You are the constant in my heart and mind and soul. You are the source of this life and the maintenance of this life and the culmination of this life. For by grace I am saved, and Jesus has set me on the right track. And Your Spirit counsels me in the right direction and in the right focus and in the right state of mind. And that is why my spirit can soar with You and listen to You and learn from You and love with You. You put the fierce fire of faithfulness in this life and the righteousness that I myself could never have achieved or even aspired to. I look to the light of Christ every day and to Your power and love that You have invested in me. And I sing the song that inspires all of creation to harmony; I say the name that is above every name. I celebrate and praise and prize Jesus! Thank You for letting me be here. With You. With you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
