Overflowing with Thankfulness

“Be joyful always; pray without ceasing; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Not just for things, not just for riches, not just for His touch upon our lives, not just for peace and protection and victory, we give thanks. Day and night, day in and day out, from dawn to dawn, year after year, and a lifetime into eternity, we give thanks! Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I say rejoice! The Lord is near! Let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be afraid! Jesus Christ has overcome the world and everything that was against us. How  can our hearts be anxious; how can we fear? The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His heavenly throne. And He became flesh to dwell among us. And He placed His own Spirit upon us forever. And we rejoice, and we give thanks, not just because of what He has done, but because of who He is! And because we get to see Him and know Him and be with Him! Today and tomorrow and all the tomorrows and beyond time! We live with Him and in Him and for Him. There is no greater reason or purpose or privilege. His Word is on my lips and in my heart and becomes the building blocks of this life, the worship of this voice, the imprint of this existence. All who believe in Him are saved by Him and kept by him. There is no undoing what He has done for us, and there is no doubt in who He is. And there is no mistaking the power of His love. Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace --- we stand amazed in His presence. And we give thanks!

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled; neither let them be afraid.  --- John 14:27

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. --- Colossians 2:6-7

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.  --- Colossians 3:15

Give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; make known among the nations what He has done.  --- 1 Chronicles 16:8

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
--- 1 Corinthians 15:57
