Before a Word

Father, I acknowledge You. I acknowledge You in all my ways, in every aspect of my life, in all my thoughts and dreams and efforts and words. In my concerns and cares and fears and worries, You have dominion; You have control; You have sovereignty. And You have compassion. You have attention for my life. You have the love and care to touch me personally, to reach into my day in every moment. Nothing is impossible for You, and I am not too unimportant for You. You acknowledge me. You acknowledge my existence. You acknowledge Your care for me. You work my life for Your glory. Whatever I am, You have made me; You have molded and refined; You have taught and trained and given experience. You have guarded and guided. And You have listened. You have listened to this trembling voice and this fearful heart and this blind and deaf mind and this insignificant soul. But I am not worthless to You --- I am prized; I am treasured; I am loved; I am delighted in. How can that be? But You do! You have told me and shown me every day of my life in so many ways! You know me. More than anyone else, You know me; and yet, You love me! And You walk with me as if I am somebody to be with. And my heart is expressed to You not only by my words and life, but also by the care of Christ and the power of Your Spirit --- more than I could ever pray or say. Hear my heart and know how thankful I am, how at peace I am, how in love I am. Accept this life and use this life and complete this life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
O LORD, You have searched me, and You know me. --- Psalm 139:1
Before a word is on my tongue, You know it completely, O LORD. --- Psalm 139:4
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. --- Romans 8:26
Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died --- more than that, who was raised to life --- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. --- Romans 8:34
