We Long for You

Father, every day everything declares Your glory. But our eyes do not always see. Our ears do not always hear. Help us when we do not understand. Please be patient with us when our minds are distracted and clouded. Help us past our blindness of heart. Please hear our prayers; please answer our prayers; please show us Your majesty! Let us experience who You are! Let us know the wonder and awe and totality of You! Please touch our lives, please move our lives, please make our lives, please save our lives, please orchestrate our lives, with Your faithfulness and compassion and love and mercy and power. Take hold of our concerns and worries and troubles and trials, of the wars within and around us, of the pains real and imagined and acute and chronic, and please heal us and help us, please give us the comfort of Your peace, please give us the sanctuary and rest that only You possess, that only You fulfill. Our eyes look for You; our hearts yearn for You; our minds search for You; our souls stop and bow and listen for You. Help us to stand on the sure foundation; help us to be in line with the Stone the builders rejected; help us to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd; help us to humble ourselves and pray and seek your face and turn from our wicked ways; help us to trust and obey and exalt Your Word and commands and guidance, Your love and strength and righteousness, with all our heart, with all our heart. Help us to know You deeply, richly, fully, completely, passionately, personally, persistently. Draw us close and close and closer still. Let nothing be between us. Please. Please. In Jesus’ name, amen.
