In the Strength of the LORD

Father, You have given us Jesus, and we know the salvation that we have received. We know and believe and trust. And it has become the framework of all of our moments and all of our days. He stands at the head of our lives, and we look beyond the world to Him. We listen beyond the world to His voice and His Word. His peace is in our hearts, and His purpose is in our determination. We know that His forgiveness and mercy are the grace that You have afforded to us, that You have gifted to us. He is our Conquering King and fortress and armor of righteousness. He is the organization and color and taste of this life. He has become our hope and expectation and security for each day. This world is a mess because of our sin. We have seen the fallout and failings and fatalities. But Jesus Christ is our rescue and redemption. Jesus Christ is our renewal and relief. He is the only Life that we have. He is the only Truth that we have. He is the only Way that we have. You have done this in Your love and Your glory. In the beginning was the Word, and now is the Word, and forever is the Word! This love You have lavished overwhelms us and overcomes the world. We bow in awe; we praise in joy; we walk in faith. Your Spirit leads us to Jesus, and Jesus leads us to You. And we follow boldly and obediently and eagerly. We make a joyful noise with our testimony. We declare the Good News. We take our place as living stones on the firm foundation, next to the Cornerstone. We join the heavenly hosts in praise, singing, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace and good will toward men!” In Jesus’ glorious name, amen!

He will stand and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they will live securely, for then His greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. And He will be their peace.  --- Micah 5:4-5
